Smart monitoring
Integrated control systems manufacturer Controlstar Systems has
received a grant under the DTI's Smart Awards scheme to help fund
the development of two condition-monitoring systems that will have
the capability of sending invaluable data from remote sites back
to a central point using a dial-up connection, intranet or the internet.
The first system is for vibration monitoring and will help predict
incipient failures of rotating equipment in the field; the second
is a power quality monitoring system that will provide a facility
for analysing energy usage at remote locations.
