Test spec for PROFInet
Profibus
International has announced the availability of a test specification
for PROFInet Certification. This new guideline will help engineers
ensure that their products and systems comply with the PROFInet
specification, the organisation's new object-based standard for
multi-vendor, plant-wide integration of distributed automation systems.
By taking advantage
of a number of firmly established IT standards such as Ethernet,
TCP/IP, COM/DCOM, XML and defining a standard interface between
the automation objects, PROFInet reduces substantially the engineering
overhead in design and installation of distributed automation systems.
