Industrial Networks for Fieldbus and Open Systems
MTEC, 13-14 Feb 2002,
NEC Birmingham, UK
Putting
the dog through its paces exhibition organisers Trident have secured
the services of AIBO, the latest version of Sony's robotic dog.
AIBO will be present on both days of the shows and Sue Ware, Trident's
marketing co-ordinator will be arranging demonstrations. This version
of the dog, the ERS-210, has additional movement in both ears and
has LEDs in its face and tail, plus head-, chin-and back-mounted
touch sensors which allow it to show a range of emotions such as
'joy' and 'anger'. Although AIBO will offer a lighthearted diversion
for the visitor, similar technology will be present in the individual
exhibitions, providing an interesting example of technology crossover.
