New open fieldbus standard
is gaining momentum
The latest
open fieldbus CC-LINK, and its foundation the CC-Link Partner Association
(CLPA) is gaining momentum, following a successful launch of the
European section of the CLPA at the Hanover Messe. CC-Link originally
started life as an Asian equivalent to Profibus and DeviceNet type
fieldbuses, but is now becoming more widely recognised.
CC-Link is
designed to perform deterministic simultaneous control and data
transmissions, and to give the highest possible network availability
with its 26 station floating master capability.
In particular,
anyone looking to export networkable solutions to Asia should consider
the significant strengths of the CC-Link specification.
