Wallace & Tiernan now offers an OPC-Server for simple visualisation and connection of its measurement and control technology to other technical units and components in the system, independent of manufacturer.

The OPC-Server Data Access V 2.0 provides software for data exchange with superior systems, and supports all the Wallace & Tiernan measurement and control units that are compatible with the RS485 bus.

The software is available free of charge for downloading at www.wallace-tiernan.de.

The OPC-Server allows transmission of process data from up to 32 measurement and control-instruments to OPC-client-applications. Data exchange is bi-directional, which means the OPC-client can both read and write process data; process parameters can be changed in the visualisation system on the computer screen. Data exchange is possible on the same computer or via networks (including over intranets and the internet.

Access to Wallace & Tiernan RS485 bus takes place via a free serial port of the computer on which the OPC server application is running.

OPC is able to unite different field-bus-systems into one visualisation-system. The OPC-server is easy to implement and allows flexible and efficient access to selected process data.
