Inclination measurement over Profibus

By enlarging its product range, Fraba Posital now offers a new solution in the field of inclination measuring: robust and compact inclination sensors with a Profibus interface.

For the determination of an angle of inclination, a conductimetric principle of measurement is used to ensure a high grade of precision even for small angular changes. With this inclination sensor the

x- and y-axis can be evaluated independently from each other. An angular coverage up to 45 degrees is possible in positive and negative excursion.

Integrating a powerful 16 bit micro controller allows rapid measuring and processing of the angle. In order to adapt the inclination sensor to the requirements of the application, there are several device parameters available for the user. A preset value enables the desired angle of inclination to the real physical inclination and to calibrate the sensor.

Software limit switches for the minimum and maximum value allow the supervising of an admissible range of operation. The device is protected to IP66 against dust and hosed water.
