Radar level sensor
offers HART and Profibus outputs
As smooth as
the vessel wall, and without gaps or cavities, the VEGAPULS 43 radar
sensor has been specially designed for the pharmaceutical and food
processing industries. This non-contact level sensor, with an accuracy
of 0.05%, behaves the same as the vessel wall during CIP and SIP.
Therefore, it has been accepted by EHEDG, FDA and 3A. Only a small
TFM-PTFE surface, with a high quality finish (Ra < 0.8) is inside
the vessel.
The sensor
emits focused, low power radar pulses (0,01µW/cm2) via this surface
towards the product being measured. The pulses are reflected off
the product and return to the sensor as echoes. Intelligent and
fast electronics accurately analyse these echoes.
The electronics
calculates the product level, using the running time of the radar
pulses, and output the continuous level as a 4-20mA HART or Profibus
PA signal.
The sensor
is suited to a wide range of applications and is virtually unaffected
by pressures (-1 to +40 bar) and temperatures (-40 to +150°C).
