HMI and control software expanded

GE FANUC has expanded its Cimplicity family of products with the launch of a Machine Edition and a Plant Edition. Machine Edition provides an open, integrated development environment specifically designed for machine level HMI, motion and control applications, while Plant Edition focuses on expanding the HMI and SCADA functions of the Cimplicity software: its true client/server architecture and open-system design offer fast, easy integration with the ability to grow from a single computer node to a plant-wide monitoring and control system, providing real-time information from the factory floor to all levels of the enterprise.

As part of the Microsoft Developer Network and Microsoft Certified Solution Provider program, GE Fanuc worked with Microsoft to fully leverage the Windows 32-bit architecture and key technologies like ActiveX, OPC, SQL Server and COM.

The integration of Microsoft SQL Server and Cimplicity products allows manufacturers to easily integrate plant-floor data into higher level business systems through XML
