Framework for automation development

Wonderware has launched a new ArchestrA framework, providing new levels of ease of use, scaleability, project productivity, and extensibility, for products and solutions built on it.

Wonderware will roll out in 2002 the first new and enhanced components to its FactorySuite to leverage the power of this framework. "We recognised the need to enable different application components to run seamlessly on top of a common infrastructure so that application developers can concentrate on making the best use of their domain expertise," said Joe Cowan, Wonderware president. "ArchestrA is the result of this intense development effort."

The new operating environment, which runs on top of Windows, consists of the primary functional services that are needed to build any product for an industrial automation application.
