New development kits
for Windows CE
Blue Chip Technology
has launched a new development kit based on Windows CE3.0,based
on its Neutron and Photon embedded single board computers. Each
kit includes a kit of components for the rapid development of applications
using Blue Chip's CPU boards. This includes a full set of components
and a single board computer configured with a customised DiskOnChip
solid state disk pre-installed with Windows CE3.0.
Blue Chip Technology
has developed a start-up code called CeBIOS, which initialises the
basic system hardware, displays the splash screen, loads Windows
CE3.0 from the DiskOnChip into RAM and starts execution. Through
the use of the CeBIOS, Host Utility areas of the DiskOnChip can
be updated to tailor the system without having to return to the
hardware supplier for modification and further development.
