Drives & Controls - March 2001

Extended stroke range and lower cost

Featuring an extended stroke range from 25mm to 200mm, the new SLS130 sealed linear sensor from Penny & Giles is sealed to a choice of IP50 or IP66 and costs some 20% less than the HLP129 range that it is replacing.

A compact shaft option is also available to provide a bearing centre distance that is 25mm shorter.

Also new from Penny & Giles is the SLS320, which is described as ‘designer friendly’. The SLS320 extends the stroke lengths of the latest generation of sealed linear sensors to 1100mm.

Both designs have been developed to offer improved performance at a lower cost. They are engineered with fewer components, enabling volume production of competitively priced OEM quantities on very short delivery. Standard units are available ex-stock, and Penny & Giles informs us that any configurable option should be available for despatch within five days from the receipt of the order.
